From the 1953 Searchlight (The 25th Anniversary of the Searchlight)

Excuse me - there's FIVE rows - not four!

Wait a minute! We're only in SEVENTH grade!

From the 1954 Searchlight (We were in Eighth Grade that year)

In our freshman year, led by President
Kenny Greil, we organized the first
freshman class party, featuring swimming,
roller skating, games and dancing. The
year's high point was the crowning of May
Queen Mary Ann Read and her attendants,
Shirley Wenham, and Bonnie Bird.

As sophomores, with Hal Abercrombie at the wheel, we took on a
novel project, the sale of large blue and white Billies Buttons.
The eve of our "Spring Fantasy" was highlighted by many inches
of new-fallen snow, but the dance went on despite the storm.

In our junior year "Downbeat," our sock-hop,
filled out the early spring schedule, and then
came our Junior Prom. The cafeteria was magically
transformed into a dream ballroom, decorated by
pink clouds and little pink angels. Don Simmonds
was crowned king, and Nancy Lawrence queen.

That favorite haven, the senior refreshment stand, was ours at last,
and the arrival of our school rings assured us that we were, at last,
seniors. From the seed of great plans grew our very own yearbook,
then the memorable Senior Prom, and at last we reached the
utopia of our high school career - graduation.

With a tear in our eye, a smile on our lips, a song in our heart,
and many cherished memories, you find us, the prey of the hunt,
leaving our Alma Mater, never to return again as students.
